I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I’ve decided to not wait any longer and simply take the plunge. It seems like I’ll be right in time for Lungu’s inauguration. Winning the election by the thinnest of margins and denying the opposition its full rights to the appeals process may be cause for further political disconcert in the country.
I’ve done some research on places to stay and plan to stay at Lusaka Backpackers for at least the first night. It’ll be my first hostel experience. It could be a good way to meet other solo travelers. In the first week, I plan to explore Lusaka and either go on a safari or visit Victoria Falls. Zambia is famous for its walking safaris in Luangwa Valley. I will consider it. I’m thrilled to get out, move my limbs, and take in some glorious southern African nature after being cooped up in London for the past few months.
